What is a Shankh?
A Shankh is a natural conch shell formed in the ocean and traditionally used for producing sound through breath.
Today, people use it for different reasons — to learn blowing, for spiritual practice, for Vastu placement, or simply to bring sound and presence into their space.

What is Shankh-naad?
Shankh-naad is the sound created when a Shankh is blown correctly.
It is not just about force — it involves posture, breath control, and technique.
If you’re curious about learning it properly, our Shankh-naad Workshops guide beginners step-by-step.
Which Shankh should I buy?
It depends on your intention.

Do different Shankhs produce different sounds? What should I buy?
Yes and choosing a Shankh often comes down to the type of sound or purpose you are looking for.
Here’s a simple guide:
Peaceful & soothing sound → Gauri Shankh, Annapurna Shankh
Loud & sharp sound → Padam Shankh, Vishnu Vahan Garuda Shankh

Which size Shankh should I buy?
The right size depends on both your comfort level and the type of sound you prefer.
Beginners usually find medium-sized Shankhs easier to handle.
Very small Shankhs can be harder to control, while very large ones require stronger breath support.
In terms of sound:
Smaller Shankhs produce a higher-pitched tone
Larger Shankhs create a deeper, more vibrating sound
You can choose based on the sound you are drawn to.
If you're unsure, starting with a medium-sized blowing Shankh is often the most comfortable choice.
Which size is the easiest to blow?
Medium-sized Shankhs are generally the easiest for beginners because they offer a good balance between sound clarity and breath control.
Shankhs measuring around 12–13 inches and above are typically easier to blow, as smaller ones require greater air pressure and more precise control.
If you're new to the practice and unsure where to begin, our Shankh-naad Workshops can help you learn the correct technique step-by-step.
My Shankh does not blow. What should I do?
If your Shankh does not produce sound initially, don’t worry — this is very common for beginners.
Every genuine Shankh naturally has the ability to produce sound, and each piece is tested by us before shipping.
In most cases, the challenge is not the Shankh, but the technique.
With controlled breath and correct posture, the sound usually comes through with practice.
You can:
Try again using steady, controlled breath

My Shankh has holes, rough edges, or cuts. Is it defective?
Not at all 😊
Natural Shankhs are formed in the ocean over many years, so slight variations such as small holes, rough edges, cuts, or gaps are completely natural.
These are not defects — they are signs of authenticity and proof that the Shankh has not been artificially altered.
However, if you’re ever concerned about structural damage, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@naturalshankh.kalariwarriors.com and we’ll be happy to assist you.
My Shankh looks different from the photo. Why?
Each Shankh is a unique natural creation shaped over years in the ocean. No two Shankhs are ever identical.
Slight variations in Texture, Tone, Size and Shape are expected and are a sign of authenticity.
The images shown on the website are representative, not identical. Which means the Shankh you receive will carry its own natural character.
